Cyber Security Intern (Evergreen)
About the position
The Horizon BCBSNJ internship program offers students an opportunity to gain exposure to the cybersecurity industry through hands-on experience, collaboration, and the development of creative problem-solving skills. Interns will contribute to meaningful projects while working closely with mentors and senior leadership, enhancing their understanding of cybersecurity practices and policies.
Responsibilities
Ā Assist in supporting the enterprise-wide information security policies and standards.

Ā Perform security audits and assessments, conducting risk analyses and network forensics.

Ā Assist in the administration of the security technology stack and investigate alerts.
,
Ā Support the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) in responding to security incidents and threats.
,
Ā Help prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and risk for exploitation and partner with the IT Department to remediate vulnerabilities.

Ā Review potential phishing emails and follow remediation procedures.
,
Ā Escalate and assign incidents to Senior Cyber Security Analysts.

Ā Perform administrative duties as needed.
Requirements
Ā Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Ā Familiar with Cybersecurity concepts, including phishing tactics and email security.

Ā Strong verbal and written communication skills.
,
Ā Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ā Ability to work well in teams.

Ā Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
