Cyber Security Engineer
Location: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid)
Duration: 24 months +

This position serves as a subject matter expert on all aspects of cyber security engineering and centralized cyber security service development participates in cross functional teams as a cyber security engineer.
Education:
⢠Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are preferred.
Roles and Responsibilities:
⢠Serve as a core contributor on multi-disciplinary project teams to improve the State cybersecurity services/solutions and respective implementation, including requirements development.
⢠Work with stakeholders to assess legacy systems and identify opportunities for improved cyber security of future systems.
⢠Lead technical solutioning to address agency intake requests and operational requirements.
⢠Assess solutions for implementation within the State as part of centralized services.
Required Experience:
⢠5 years of real experience in cyber security is mandatory.
⢠Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
⢠Specific experience in engineering and implementing cyber solutions.
⢠Experience working in cross functional teams as a cyber engineer.
⢠Experience leading solution assessment and requirements development and alignment.
Preferred Qualifications:
⢠Graduate degree or certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA
⢠Experience as a cyber engineer supporting Endpoint Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Firewall, (P)DNS, SSL, CDN, and other core cyber services.
⢠Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts.
⢠Project management skills, with experience in planning, scheduling, and monitoring the delivery of cybersecurity services.
