Job Summary
This role requires advanced knowledge of customs brokerage operations, including entry writing, classification, and regulatory compliance. As a Customs Brokerage Representative III, you'll be responsible for preparing customs entries, coordinating freight delivery, and communicating with clients and internal stakeholders. This position demands strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and compliant customs entries, including classification and tariff schedules (HTS)
Interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers to facilitate freight delivery
Coordinate clearance processes, including documentation and regulatory compliance
Communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and internal stakeholders
Resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues
Scan entries into the imaging system, meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements
Prepare reports, presentations, and analysis using various software packages and databases
Establish and maintain client relationships, providing exceptional customer service
Work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis, as required by the operation and account needs
Essential Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent required
Minimum 2 years of experience in customs brokerage or a related field
Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including data entry and reporting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Accurate and rapid data entry skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Customs Broker License
Advanced knowledge of customs regulations and compliance
Experience with automated brokerage systems and software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
