Customer Service Sales Associate

Role and Responsibilities:
In this position, you will develop product knowledge, assist customers from greeting through purchase, and recommend the best solutions. You will also make sure your department is well-stocked, safe, and organized while working closely with your Department Supervisor and team members across different areas.
• Approach customers proactively to identify needs and provide support.
• Gain product knowledge using company resources to deliver accurate information.
• Help customers complete projects by greeting, qualifying, recommending, and closing sales within your department.
• Keep shelves stocked and ensure your department is safe, clean, and shop-ready.
• Assist with basic tasks in nearby departments when needed.
• Follow safety guidelines to maintain a secure shopping and work environment.
• Complete safety training and promptly address or report unsafe conditions.
• Work collaboratively with Department Supervisors, teammates in your department, and associates across the store.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Ability to provide fast, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service.
• Willingness to learn and expand product knowledge using company tools.
• Dedication to maintaining a safe shopping and work environment.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work effectively with supervisors and peers across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service.
• Knowledge of home improvement areas such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, or Tool Rental.
• Background in specialized sales positions such as Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, or Customer Order Specialist.
