Customer Service Representative - Division of Extended Studies

The Division of Extended Studies (DES) at UC San Diego is a self-supporting unit that operates year-round, offering a wide range of academic programs, courses, and services to students and the community. Our division is committed to providing high-quality education and support services to our students, and we are looking for a customer-focused and detail-oriented individual to join our team.
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Student Services Manager, the Customer Service Representative will provide excellent customer service to students, customers, and stakeholders via telephone, email, fax, and in-person. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Providing information about courses, certificate programs, and academic departments
Registering students and processing transcript requests, course descriptions, and certificate audits
Managing wait lists, resolving failed web enrollments, and performing other student services duties
Providing general information to students regarding certificate completion, Concurrent Enrollment, UCSD Student Grant Program, and more
Key holder responsibilities for opening and/or closing the site
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
Demonstrated ability to advise students and the general public regarding academic programs, policies, and procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups
Proven experience providing customer service, handling cash, and operating office equipment
Strong data-entry skills and attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines
Work Environment
This is a fully onsite role located at our 8980 Villa La Jolla Dr. location. Overtime may be required during quarterly peak enrollment, and you must be willing to work alternating Saturdays (one to three Saturdays per month). The work schedule will be between 7:00 am - 6:30 pm.
