About the Role

As a Customer Service Agent, you'll work in a dynamic environment, multitasking with ease and providing legendary service to our customers at the ticket counter, baggage service office, and gate area. You'll be responsible for ensuring a seamless travel experience, handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and going above and beyond to make our customers feel valued.

Key Responsibilities:


Provide friendly, patient, and personalized service to internal and external customers
Operate a computerized point-of-sale system to handle ticketing, check-in, and boarding processes
Manage cash, checks, credit cards, travel vouchers, and coupons as forms of payment
Check in baggage and cargo, and handle related issues or complaints
Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders via phone, face-to-face, and public address systems
Resolve customer complaints and issues related to oversells, delayed or cancelled flights, lost or damaged luggage
Provide accurate and up-to-date information on fares, schedules, and flight information
Complete forms and reports as required by the company, including irregularity and complaint reports
Work in a team environment to ensure the success of our company and achieve customer satisfaction


Essential Qualifications

To succeed as a Customer Service Agent at Southwest Airlines, you'll need:


The ability to type and/or use a computer keyboard with sufficient speed to meet demands of the job
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and colleagues
The ability to work well under pressure, handling multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
A positive and friendly demeanor, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
The ability to lift and/or move items up to 70 pounds on a regular basis and repetitively lift and/or move weights of 40 to 50 pounds onto raised surfaces
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays


Preferred Qualifications:


Foreign language skills (desirable but not required)
Previous customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work in a union-based role, adhering to collective bargaining agreement guidelines
