Job Summary We're seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Care Representative. In this entry-level position, you'll work in our contact center, providing service to policyholders and claimants, taking payments, making policy changes, and resolving problems. This role offers excellent career pathways into our Claims and Operations organization, with opportunities for skill building and career development. Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service to policyholders and claimants, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Take ownership of every interaction, utilizing each touchpoint as an opportunity to build value and showcase The Hartford brand. Handle inbound telephone calls from customers with questions or servicing needs related to their home and/or auto policy. Explain the claims process, initiate damage appraisals, and organize car rentals where appropriate. Initiate claims according to claims best practices, as assigned. Promote digital self-service capabilities on all transactions. Utilize multiple computer applications with accuracy, including our customer relationship management (CRM) system. Collaborate with colleagues to resolve customer issues and achieve team goals. Essential Qualifications A demonstrated background in customer service, insurance, retail, restaurant, or a related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong ability to empathize with customers. Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment while multitasking. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience working in a Windows-based computer environment. The ability to work in a collaborative environment and build strong relationships with colleagues. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus. High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree a plus. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in the insurance industry. Familiarity with CRM software and other customer service tools. Experience working in a remote environment. Compensation and Benefits We offer a comprehensive compensation package that includes: Competitive base pay: $40,685 - $61,027 annualized. Remote Work Arrangement This position will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. To ensure success in this role, you'll need: High-speed broadband internet service. Internet provider supplied modem/router/gateway hardwired to The Hartford issued computer with an ethernet cable.
