Job Purpose

The Curriculum Development Summer Intern will support the Kids Included Together (KIT) Curriculum & Evaluation Team in the development and review of course content and resources. KIT provides in-person and online content to child and youth providers offering them foundational knowledge in the areas of disability inclusion and behavior support. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in curriculum development, focusing on online learning formats. Under the guidance of the Curriculum & Evaluation Team, the intern will contribute to the creation, refinement, and organization of KIT content. Candidates for this role should have an interest in disability inclusion within educational (Birth-Grade 12) and out-of-school time settings, a basic understanding of adult learning principles, and a desire to learn how to develop measurable learning objectives and engaging activities.

Internship Program Overview

The Curriculum Development Internship is a 10-week program running from May 26 to August 1, requiring 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling. The Curriculum Development Internship at KIT provides an immersive learning experience in the field of curriculum design, with a focus on disability inclusion and behavior support. Interns will engage remotely in meaningful projects that contribute to KIT's mission and participate in a structured program that includes orientation, weekly check-ins, project milestones, and a closing presentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ยท Curriculum Support
? Assist with the implementation of KIT's annual Curriculum Development Plan.
? Collaborate on curriculum development projects, including live and on-demand webinars, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (VILT), e-learning modules, and print/digital resources.
? Review curriculum to ensure content meets learning objectives, aligns with evidence-based practices, and reflects current research.
? Assist in the review and organization of KIT resources within the KIT LMS in collaboration with the eLearning & IT team.
? Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
? Communicate with KIT Education & Training Specialists, Inclusion Support Center Specialists, and other team members on curriculum projects.
? Support data collection and organization for curriculum evaluation and reporting purposes.

Qualifications

Education

ยง Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's Degree program in Education, Curriculum/Instructional Design, or related field (Required)

Experience

ยง Basic understanding of disability inclusion and behavior support, and ability to translate that understanding in a variety of modalities to a variety of types of audiences.

ยง Experience with platforms in use at KIT (i.e. Articulate 360, LearnUpon, Canva) a plus.

ยง Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
