We take great pride in creating amazing food and top level service! Job Summary Orders, purchases, receives, and is responsible for inventory of food service products. Responsible for product research, ingredient standards integrity, vendor cost comparisons and recipe costing. Supervisory Responsibilities None Responsibilities • Orders, receives and stores all food service dry, refrigerated and frozen goods for all food service departments. • Orders appropriate quantity and quality of products; maintains product integrity for our natural food standards. • Responsible for researching new products that meet Mustard Seed Market & Café's ingredient standards. • Compares pricing from various vendors to ensure best purchasing practices. • Takes all food service inventory. Responsible for all data input of inventory, transfer verification and communication of all inventory information. • Maintains cleanliness, FIFO, and proper storage of all perishables following HACCP practices. • Properly allocates supply and product cost to appropriate food service department. • Enters and codes all invoices into food costing software for accounting purposes. • Monitors product cost fluctuations and trends to ensure appropriate retail pricing. • Communicates all cost fluctuations to appropriate manager. • Maintains and organizes coolers, freezers and storage rooms. • Performs other duties as assigned. Education And Experience Requires high school education or equivalent as well as 3-5 years purchasing experience. Culinary experience is preferred.
