About the position The Crisis Triage Specialist at Frontier Behavioral Health provides essential telephone crisis intervention and evaluation services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises. This role involves conducting assessments, developing safety plans, and collaborating with community resources to ensure the safety and well-being of clients. The position operates within a 24/7 crisis hotline framework, contributing to the mental health support system in the Spokane region. Responsibilities • Provide telephone triage services to individuals requesting assistance or referrals. • Complete risk assessments to determine if callers are at risk for suicide or homicide. • Manage multiple crisis calls in a professional manner. • Assist clinical staff with follow-up phone calls as needed. • Develop stabilization and safety plans in collaboration with clients and their support systems. • Complete comprehensive documentation supporting safety plans. • Maintain knowledge of community resources to assist clients effectively. • Participate in quality improvement teams and other agency responsibilities as assigned. • Maintain client records and documentation in accordance with agency policies. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in a Behavioral Health related field. • Two years of experience serving individuals with behavioral health needs (preferred). • Experience with crisis intervention and risk assessments (preferred). • Strong engagement and customer service skills. • Ability to remain calm and professional during escalated situations. • Knowledge of WAC and RCW requirements for Crisis. • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals. Nice-to-haves • Experience with addiction counseling. • Knowledge of NCQA standards.
