Creative STEM Teacher (Ages 5–12 · Part-Time, Remote, Contract)
Shiny Happy Kids (SHK) is looking for a dynamic, curious, and creative STEM teacher to lead hands-on lessons for learners ages 5–12—bringing science to life through storytelling, imagination, and engaging projects.
Our programs blend STEM with imagination—think mythology, magical creatures, nature, history, and art—to spark curiosity and help kids see connections across disciplines. If you love both building volcanoes and weaving in the myth of Pele, or mixing a science experiment with a splash of magic, this could be the perfect fit!
This is a part-time, contract, remote teaching role with flexible hours.
Requirements & Qualifications
We’d love to hear from you if you are:
• Outgoing, energetic, and great with kids
• Passionate about STEM and comfortable leading hands-on activities (science, engineering, or maker-style projects)
• Creative and excited about weaving in storytelling, mythology, or cultural connections
• Patient, encouraging, and adaptable to different learning needs
• Strong communicator with a sense of humor and enthusiasm
• Reliable with consistent internet and video setup for virtual teaching
• Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience with kids is a plus
Responsibilities
As part of the SHK team, you will:
• Lead engaging, hands-on STEM lessons that make learning fun and approachable
• Connect STEM concepts to broader stories, myths, or cultural themes
• Foster creativity and critical thinking through multi-disciplinary projects
• Encourage student participation and celebrate unique ideas
• Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment
• Occasionally collaborate with our team to design new lessons or cross-curricular themes
