Courier (2nd Shift)- Part Time
The laboratory courier is responsible for transporting specimens from physician offices, collection centers, and nursing homes to Labtech Diagnostics. The laboratory courier is an OSHA Category I employee and must adhere to the safety guidelines for this position.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Follow laboratory policies and procedures for specimen handling
Use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Maintain good customer service etiquette
Adhere to a schedule for a specific route
Communicate immediately when there is a customer problem or complaint
Assure specimens picked up are labeled appropriately
Ensure specimens are kept at the appropriate temperature
Maintain a current driver's license and active auto insurance policy
Occasionally deliver supplies to offices
Maintain current education in Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, and Leaks and Spills.
Performs additional tasks/duties as instructed by supervisor
Required Skills/Abilities:
A clean 10-year driving record
Current driver's license and insurance policy
Use technology for routing and communication purposes (smartphone, GPS, digital maps, etc.)
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Physical Requirements:
Visual and auditory acuteness
Ability to sit for long periods and perform kneeling, bending, and lifting containers up to 20 lbs.
