Cost Analyst – HOOD CONTAINER CORPORATION – Winston-Salem, NC

Job title: Cost Analyst Company: HOOD CONTAINER CORPORATION Job description: Hood Container Corporation is seeking a Cost Analyst to join our operations in Winston Salem, NC. This role will be responsible preparing product costs, target pricing, other analyses, maintaining current standard costs, and the supporting cost data base, with a minimum of supervision. How You Will Contribute: • Independently analyzes, processes, and assembles cost data and prepares product costs, and other analyses as needed • Maintains familiarity with the Business Units manufacturing methods, product specifications, and product costing techniques. • Works harmoniously with customer service, production, preproduction, design, purchasing, other divisions, and accounting to develop accurate sources of data related to specifications, manufacturing methods, and material costs. • Maintains current standard product costs and cost database through the use of costing software. • Calculates pricing for business with agreed upon margin/index levels for specified customer base. • Provide computer printouts and distribution costing information as needed. • Maintains history of cost increases. • Assists in preparing and maintaining a current product-costing manual. • Develop costs estimates for Fulfillment projects • Review production performance against standards and effectively communicate results through verbal and written reports. • Maintain labor standards in Fulfillment costing and labor standards system, performing time studies as necessary to ensure the accuracy of the standards • Adheres to the highest degree of business ethics, sound business operating philosophy, accounting principles, and all company policies and procedures. • Protects assets, confidential and restricted information, developments, specifications, materials, legal obligations, and other such data in connection with competition, vendors, and others. What it Takes: • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Engineering unless 2 years or more of manufacturing and/or labor costing experience. • Strong technical aptitude and ability to grasp a general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies • Strong analytical capabilities • Strong mathematical and computer skills including Microsoft Office applications • Strong interpersonal skills • Ability to effectively organize and structure activities • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to respond to changes in a fast-paced production environment What will put you ahead: • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Engineering • Knowledge of industrial engineering techniques including time studies, line balancing, and labor standards.
