Recognize roadblocks and celebrate achievements.Utilize a diversity of perspectives through sharing knowledge and resources.Responsibilities of the Director of Employee Excellence:Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs to support organizational goals and objectives.Oversee the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and off-boarding.Manage and lead a team of HR professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance.Collaborate with leadership to identify talent gaps and develop plans for attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations and maintain knowledge of current HR trends and best practices.Administer and enhance HR systems, processes, and procedures to streamline operations and improve employee experience.Provide expert advice and guidance on HR matters, including employee relations, compensation and benefits, and training and development.Partner with managers and employees to resolve complex HR issues and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.Collaborate with finance and other departments to develop and manage the HR budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.Requirements of the Director of Employee Excellence:Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM - CP or SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is highly preferred.Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in human resources, with a focus on HR management.Extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and experience ensuring compliance in a diverse workforce. Multi state experience is a plus.Proven experience developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs.Strong experience in managing complex employee relations issues.Experience in strategic planning and execution.Previous experience in a senior HR role within higher education is highly preferred.Proven ability to drive change and manage transformation projects.Experience with organizational development and performance management.Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in complex and sensitive situations.Proficient in HRIS systems, MS Office, and other HR-related software.Other special projects, duties, and responsibilities as assigned. Physical Demands/Work Environment:Ability to work in a virtual environment using software technology including but not limited to virtual meeting tools, such as Zoom, Instant Messaging, Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).The ability to efficiently operate a computer and its peripheral equipment (keyboard, mouse, etc.).Ability to sit or stand for six to eight hours.
