Copy Editor (US-based, PST–EST hours)

SimpleTiger is hiring a Freelance Copyeditor to review and refine educational content for our SaaS clients. Most assignments will be blog posts and long-form guides, created from both AI-assisted and human-written drafts. You will ensure all content is accurate, engaging, aligned with US English standards, and optimized for SEO and AI search. This role is the final quality checkpoint before publishing. You will work closely with the Content Director, Content Manager, and Content Specialists, enforcing client editorial guidelines, handling revision requests, and incorporating client feedback into our internal notes for future content. We are looking for a strong writer with exceptional attention to detail who can work independently while collaborating with our team. Most processes and quality assurance checklists are already in place, but we are open to evolving them based on your skills and experience. Commitment: Ongoing work, ~10–20 hours/week (variable based on project load) Responsibilities Content Editing • Edit and proofread blog posts and guides for grammar, clarity, tone, and flow using US English (unless otherwise specified) • Make AI-assisted drafts sound natural and reader-friendly while fact-checking and aligning with client's voice • Format articles for readability and engagement Quality Assurance • Ensure content meets SEO, AI Search best practices • Enforce client editorial guidelines and style guides • Handle revision requests from clients and make updates accordingly • Update internal notes with client feedback for future content Collaboration & Feedback • Provide clear, constructive feedback to Content Specialists • Work closely with the content team to maintain quality and consistency Requirements • At least two years of experience editing long-form educational or thought leadership content • Strong grammar, punctuation, and writing skills • Familiarity with SEO and basic optimization for search and answer engines • Excellent attention to detail • Ability to give clear, professional feedback • Comfortable working with multiple members of our content team • Available to communicate during PST to EST hours Nice to have • Experience editing SaaS or technology related content • Familiarity with SEMrush, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Monday.com, AirTable • Experience using WordPress or Webflow • Previous work editing AI generated content Why work with us • Flexible schedule as long as deadlines are met • Ongoing editing work for multiple SaaS brands • Fully remote • Supportive and collaborative team • Opportunity to learn advanced content optimization skills Who we are At SimpleTiger, we're not just a team – we're a dynamic, passionate family of expert marketers specializing in SEO and content marketing, almost exclusively with B2B SaaS companies, from ambitious startups to billion-dollar giants that have achieved IPOs or been acquired.
