Role Title: Controller / Finance LeaderCompany: AlterCallReporting to: Ryan BlairEmployment Type: Full time contract to hireLocation: Remote (U.S.-based preferred)The Mission (What do you need to get done?)As Controller at AlterCall, your mission is to take full ownership of our internal finance and planning function while also serving as a fractional finance advisor to our portfolio of clients. You will step into a strategic, high-velocity environment where your work will free up executive bandwidth, optimize financial processes, and elevate our advisory capabilities across client accounts.You will:Own and optimize all internal financial operations (payroll, reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting).Support the CEO and leadership team with financial planning, analysis, and strategic insight.Build and maintain dynamic business models in Excel and other fintech systems to guide internal and client-facing decisions.Develop investor-ready models and decks; support capital raising strategy and investor relations.Consult directly with clients on financial and operational challenges (modeling, growth strategy, fundraising readiness).Create scalable systems and dashboards to measure financial health for AlterCall and clients.Eventually lead and grow a small finance team under your direction.The Outcomes (What does success look like?)In the first 90-180 days, success looks like:Transitioned Ownership: Taken over all current financial duties from Anne (payroll, monthly close, invoicing, planning).Model-Driven Culture: Built or improved financial models for at least 3 client companies.Executive Enablement: Saved the CEO 5–10 hours/month by becoming a trusted operator.Client Impact: Billed out on at least one client project per quarter to drive revenue offset.Fundraising Ready: Built 2+ investor-facing models or decks to support client capital raises.System Uplift: Implemented or optimized 1-2 key fintech/AI finance tools for automation and insights.The Competencies (Who will crush it in this role?)You’re an elite financial athlete who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments.
