Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Controller - CFO at Kossoris Search. The Controller - CFO will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning. They will also manage financial risk, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide financial guidance to leadership.

Our clientele are big law firms, top law firm partners and related entities. They and we are get it done yesterday, A-Types, workaholic, perfectionists (for the most part).

The CEO is a deal person- this means she does not prefer to focus on bills or details but wants things done right & is very particular about accuracy & order (border-line OCD likely).

Our agency has grown and outgrew the former CFO. Our business manager of 20+ years who handled Accounting died suddenly 10 months ago so there has been a lot of change.

The former CFO did things such as pay all business & personal bills, reconciled bank accounts, business and personal credit cards. Supplied CPA with business and personal financials. Paid New York and LA property taxes, prepared LA city tax. Prepared invoices for clients and managed yearly placement fees on a log which tracks yearly income.

Prepared a weekly list of open items.

The former CFO oversaw employees (20) -new hire paper work, hiring and firing. We are trying to delegate this separately. But if you have experience with ADP and this, it is a plus.

This is an off-site position. Meaning someone with their own company, own support staff who will partner with our agency. This is full time, however - likely 30-40 hours a week.

Qualifications
• Experience in financial operations, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Ability to conduct strategic financial planning and manage financial risk
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and financial guidance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• CPA or CFA certification is a plus
• Experience in the legal industry is beneficial
