Contract Staff Accountant (Remote)
Summary of Position Intrim remote accountant to support general accounting functions, with an emphasis on GL reconciliation, lease accounting, PSC grant submissions, and fixed asset/WIP tracking. This role involves both transactional work (AP/AR, journal entries, reconciliations) and assisting with financial reporting and audits. Key Focus Areas • Month-End Accounting: Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger and bank accounts, and assist with month-end close. • Lease & Fixed Assets: Manage lease invoices, payments, and batches; maintain WIP and fixed asset schedules. • AP/AR Processing: Code invoices, process payments, and monitor accounts receivable collections. • Grant & Reporting Support: Collect data for PSC grant submissions and assist with financial reporting. • Systems & Compliance: Maintain accounting controls, assist with audits, and coordinate with software vendors to optimize accounting systems. Ideal Candidate Profile • Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting or related field. • Experience: 1–2 years of accounting experience; cost accounting exposure is a plus. • Skills: Strong Excel proficiency, understanding of GAAP, organized, detail-oriented, and effective communicator.
