Contract Of Counsel Through April 30, 2026 (Remote)

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Contract Of Counsel to join our legal team through May 15, 2026, in a fully remote capacity. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to just six (6) of our highest-profile legal matters, providing support across our appellate, Supreme Court, and high-stakes ADR practice areas, with one or two matters in trial courts already. As a Contract Of Counsel, you will play a secondary role, largely as an "ideas pro" as we work through complex legal issues and strategize. There is no research and drafting in this role; you will collaborate with internal teams and external partners and provide input and thoughts on written strategy and filings of not more than four hours per week. We may seek your pro hac vice into some matters as third-chair depth. Your Of Counsel connection will help ensure our organization embodies the strength we already wield internationally. Duties • Review, opine on, and suggest improvements in strategy and legal documents including letters, briefs, and motions never prepared or generated by you. • Assist in negotiating agreements and resolving disputes through effective negotiation strategies that align with clients' goals. • Join the Firm in video-conference meetings or negotiations as needed, demonstrating professionalism, strong communication skills, and powerful presence. Qualifications • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction in good standing. • Demonstrated negotiation skills capable of supporting complex discussions effectively. • Good judgment and a commitment to strict discretion. • That's all. (No minimum number of years in active practice required.) • A plus: At least seven years in practice (not required at all). • Another plus: Proficiency in LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms and the best in Legal Artificial Intelligence for comprehensive legal analysis. • Still another plus: Admission in any or all of the D.C. Court of Appeals, the D.D.C. federal court, and/or W.D.N.C. federal court, or willingness to gain such, permanently, at our expense.
