Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Contract Full Stack Developer specializing in .NET technologies to join our team for a 6-month engagement with the potential to extend. As a key contributor, you will design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable software solutions that meet the growing business needs of our clients. The position will involve work on one ore more projects simultaneously, including rewriting of legacy .NET applications, updating/optimizing SQL queries, converting SOAP web services to REST, and some light front-end development (Bootstrap/jQuery or similar). Other tasks will include assisting with gathering and documenting program specifications, testing/debugging, and deployment support.

Contract Snapshot
• 6-month engagement with potential to extend
• 20+ hours per week to start, increasing as work is evaluated (potential up to 40 hours/week)
• Immediate start required (within 1 week of hire)
• Fully remote
• Must be fluent in English and available/responsive within 3 hours, 8AM-5PM EST, Mon-Fri.
• Target rate: $50–$75/hour (based on experience and depth in SQL/API work)
• All development work will be considered “work for hire” and owned by the commissioning party from the moment of creation or modification. Employer to retain all intellectual property rights.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement robust web applications using ASP.NET (.NET Framework 4.5 and .NET Core / .NET 6+ using Visual Studio ), C#, and related technologies
• Build/optimize and consumption RESTful APIs (webhooks, authentication flows)
• Develop user interfaces with Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, and UI/UX best practices.
• Manage database development using SQL Server T-SQL, PL/SQL, and MongoDB for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) for reporting and dashboards
• SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for ETL and data flows
• Collaborate with team members and client stakeholders to optimize and document program specifications
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure high-quality code and reliable performance across platforms.
• Windows Server administration (IIS deployment, configuration, permissions)

Experience
• Proven experience in full stack web development with a strong command of ASP.NET (or similar frameworks) and C#.
• Hands-on knowledge of front-end development using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and AJAX.
• Familiarity with backend technologies including RESTful API design principles, and SOAP protocols.
• Extensive experience working with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB; including database design and optimization.
• Strong understanding of OOP (Object-Oriented Programming),, application security best practices, and debugging techniques.
• Experience working within Agile teams utilizing tools like JIRA for project management;

Nice-to-Have
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with .NET 8 and modern API design patterns
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps (repos, pipelines, CI/CD)
• Exposure to containerization (Docker) or cloud hosting environments
• Git source control workflows and branching strategies
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for deployment or server automation
• Knowledge of SSAS or other BI stack tools
• Background in front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React, or Blazor)
• Basic understanding of security best practices (API tokens, OAuth, TLS, firewall basics)

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across multiple layers of the stack
• Comfortable working with legacy systems while building toward modern solutions
• Able to collaborate using ticketing/project tracking platforms
• Clear written and verbal communication, especially in cross-team environments
• Willingness to document processes, APIs, and deployment steps

Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
