While writing and working editorial projects, writing must be clear, easy to read and engaging. This requires learning in-house editorial principles.
-Research complex topics and organize them into clearly understandable nuggets of information that are optimized for search engines.
-Bring unique, thoughtful insights to content that aren't already on Google. This can come from research or from personal experience.
-Convince readers to become valued customers (CRO).
-Learn about all aspects of the business including sales, marketing, and engineering, while getting to meet your new team members.
-Gain a clear understanding of the business model, and build a mental map of the types of readers targeted.
-Manage your time to meet deadlines and motivate team members.
-Clearly explain your ideas to both Content Writers and Product Managers as an effective verbal and written communicator.
-Provide constructive editorial feedback that elevates our Content Writers and allows them to take their writing to the next level.
-Create structured outlines using keyword research to engage readers.
-Be involved in hiring and growing a freelance writing team.
Preferred Experience:
-Editorial and/or writing experience at a startup with a world-class content marketing department
-Experience working with tools like Ahrefs to identify user intent and long tail keywords relevant to topics you're writing about.
-Experience managing in-house writing teams.
-Previous experience editing content written for the web.
