The Community You Will Join: Join Airbnb’s dynamic Research Team, a collaborative environment where actionable insights drive strategic decisions across all business functions. You’ll be part of the Innovation Insights division, working closely with key partners including Product, Marketing, Strategy, and Regional teams. The team values cross-functional collaboration, regularly partnering with international colleagues to deliver global and local insights. Innovation Insights is at the forefront of incubating new research methods, including AI-based tools, enriching Airbnb’s understanding of cultural trends and growth opportunities. The Difference You Will Make: As Senior Trends & Foresight Lead, you will identify signals of change in consumer behavior, forecast their business implications, and provide leadership teams with the insights to navigate evolving cultural landscapes. Success in this role means delivering compelling narratives and frameworks that inform long-term strategies, supporting project prioritization, and uncovering both risks and opportunities. Your work will be measured by the clarity, impact, and actionability of your insights as they inform business plans and strategic decisions. A Typical Day: • Analyze and synthesize diverse data sources (secondary/syndicated, social, AI-powered) to uncover consumer trends. • Develop actionable frameworks and narratives to communicate trends and implications to cross-functional partners. • Guide and collaborate with researchers across the team, embedding cultural trends into their work and fostering cohesion. • Lead high-priority, deadline-driven projects, presenting findings that engage and inspire decision-makers. • Oversee relationships with external agencies for Trend & Foresight functions, including evaluating and incubating new research approaches. • Coach and develop a direct report, ensuring their growth and the quality of their contributions. • Collaborate on innovative research methods and tools, including international perspectives and partnerships. Your Expertise: • 12+ years of experience in trend and foresight analysis, including delivering insights at global and regional scales. • Degree in research, marketing, social sciences, or future studies; advanced degrees preferred. • Demonstrated ability to create actionable, compelling narratives and frameworks, especially via slide reports (Google suite proficiency a plus). • Expertise in both qualitative and quantitative analysis, and ability to evaluate external data sources. • Hands-on experience with a broad range of trend analysis resources, including AI applications. • Proven ability to lead and coach individuals, driving high-quality, impactful work. • Excellent interpersonal skills—collaborative, positive, and able to foster teamwork across functions and geographies. • Strategic multitasker with a detail-oriented, innovative, and “outside-the-box” approach. • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making thoughtful, real-time decisions to add unique value. • Work authorization for the United States required. • Occasional travel may be required for collaboration with international teams and partners. How We’ll Take Care of You: Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
