Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Construction Foreman to oversee field operations for both residential and commercial projects, including remodels, detached garages, and new builds such as 36-bed assisted living facilities. The Foreman ensures all work meets plans, timelines, and quality standards while coordinating subcontractors and performing hands-on construction tasks as needed. Key Responsibilities · Supervise all on-site activities for assigned projects. · Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, inspections, and deliveries. · Ensure adherence to blueprints, codes, and safety standards. · Maintain construction schedules and budgets. · Perform hands-on construction work as needed across multiple trades. · Lead, train, and motivate site crews for productivity and safety. Core Skill Categories 1. Structural & Framing Competence · Read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings. · Frame walls, roofs, and floors to engineering specifications. · Verify plumb, level, and square of structures. · Install headers, bracing, and fasteners to code. 2. Sitework, Layout & Foundations · Perform site layout using tape, string, rotary laser, and builder’s level. · Verify slab and foundation elevations using laser leveling systems. · Set batter boards, diagonals, and layout points per site plan. · Coordinate excavation, formwork, rebar, and utility tie-ins. 3. Concrete, Masonry & Exterior Systems · Oversee footing and slab pours, finishing, and curing. · Inspect rebar placement, control joints, and form alignment. · Perform concrete cutting, patching, and light masonry work. 4. Interior Systems, Ceilings & Finish Work · Install drywall, finish, texture, and paint with quality control. · Perform trim, cabinetry, and hardware installations. · Install and inspect drop ceiling grids and tiles using laser layout. · Inspect door/window installation and interior finishes. 5. MEP Coordination & Verification · Read mechanical, electrical, and plumbing schematics. · Verify proper installation of rough-ins and final fixtures. · Coordinate trade sequencing and perform simple troubleshooting. 6. Project Management & Documentation · Maintain daily logs, inspection reports, and progress photos. · Track material usage, subcontractor performance, and timelines. · Use construction management software for scheduling and updates. 7. Leadership, Safety & Quality Control · Lead and train crews with clear communication and accountability. · Enforce OSHA safety standards and PPE compliance. · Conduct toolbox talks and ensure clean, organized job sites. 8. Professional & Administrative Capabilities · Track timecards, material costs, and small tool inventory. · Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and inspectors. · Represent the company professionally on all projects. Qualifications · 5+ years of progressive construction experience, 2+ as foreman or lead. · Proficient across multiple trades including framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, and concrete. · Strong understanding of Kansas building codes and permitting. · Ability to read, interpret, and apply detailed construction plans. · OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred. · Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
