Construction Engineer / Project Engineer
Job OverviewThe Construction Engineer supports the contractor delivering construction projects across Micronesia for U.S. government projects.
Key Responsibilities
Provide field engineering and project engineering support to the Project Manager and Superintendent to execute the work safely, on schedule, and per contract requirements.Interpret contract documents (plans, specifications, codes, and approved RFIs) and support constructability reviews and field coordination.Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and material/product data; coordinate approvals with designers, vendors, and subcontractors.Support work planning and progress tracking (look-aheads, daily/weekly coordination), and assist with quantity tracking, pay applications, and field reporting.Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues, maintain production flow, and ensure proper installation sequencing.Document and support change management: identify potential change events, develop backup (quantities, labor/equipment impacts), and assist with pricing, proposals, and change order execution.Participate in inspections and testing (as applicable) to verify work conforms to contract requirements; track deficiencies/punch items and support closeout documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field5–10 years of construction or project engineering experienceU.S. federal construction experience preferredAbility to work in remote, overseas environments
Compensation
Base Salary Equivalent: USD $50,000–$75,000 (experience dependent)
Additional benefits may include overseas or hardship differential, housing or housing allowance, per diem/COLA, and travel or rotation benefits (project dependent).
