Conflicts Analyst
Kahana Feld is a law firm seeking a Conflicts Analyst to assist in identifying potential conflicts of interest through database research and analysis. The role involves reviewing new business intake requests, maintaining conflicts databases, and preparing reports to support the firm's risk management efforts.ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive conflicts searches using the firm’s database to identify potential conflicts of interest between new and existing clients and mattersReview and analyze client and matter information, including corporate structures, affiliations, and legal issues, to assess potential conflictsConduct research on companies, individuals, and other entities using legal research tools to identify relevant relationships and potential conflictsMaintain and update the conflicts database with accurate client and matter detailsReview new business intake forms and related documentation, including conflict reports, engagement agreements, and waivers, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm policiesPrepare detailed conflict reports and summaries for reviewIdentify and flag potential conflicts, escalating issues to the Conflicts Supervisor for final review and resolution as neededEnsure that all executed engagement agreements, conflict waivers, outside counsel guidelines, and ethical wall memoranda are properly recorded and stored in the firm’s administrative document repositoryAssist in the development and improvement of conflicts procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in conflicts clearanceStay up to date with industry trends, legal ethics rules, and firm policies regarding conflicts of interest and client intakePerform additional projects and administrative tasks as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree preferred (law, business, or a related field)Strong analytical and research skills with a keen eye for detailAbility to assess potential conflicts based on corporate relationships, legal matters, and ethical considerationsProficiency with legal research tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings clearly and conciselyStrong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlinesAbility to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive informationAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environmentPrior legal industry experience, compliance, or risk management is a plusCompany OverviewKahana Feld is a law firm that focuses on business litigation, insurance, employment, and construction defect litigations.
