Position Overview
As a Concierge Customer Service Representative at MedWatch, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional service to our members and providers. This position requires excellent customer interaction skills, versatility, and a strong ability to handle complex situations. You will be responsible for responding to inquiries, negotiating with providers, and assisting members with benefits and healthcare questions.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to telephone and email inquiries received from members and providers within defined service standards
Negotiate with providers to gain acceptance for plans without network agreements and/or out of network providers
Assist members with benefits and healthcare questions
Document all calls received in system-based call log
Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, which may change with or without notice
Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Experience
Minimum high school diploma or GED; 2 years of college or higher education preferred
One year of customer service or call center experience in a healthcare-related role
Medical intake or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) experience preferred
Bilingual English-Spanish a plus
Skills and Competencies
Patience and ability to handle difficult situations tactfully and diplomatically
Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills
Strong appreciation and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Proficient with Microsoft applications and strong computer skills
Excellent data entry and typing skills
Knowledge of provider organizations and networks
Understanding of CMS Medicare reimbursement rates and ability to effectively negotiate rate structures
Takes initiative to resolve situations and accomplish projects, actions, and tasks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving
Ability to multi-task and anticipate potential needs/problems
Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers
Medical terminology knowledge
Strong attention to detail
Understanding of self-funded health benefits a plus
Claim processing skills a plus
Insurance verification or pre-certification a plus
