Computer Operator
Modern Woodmen of America is one of the nation’s largest fraternal benefit societies, and they are seeking a third-shift Computer Operator to execute and monitor real-time and batch programs and systems. The successful candidate will operate computer equipment, prepare operation schedules, and communicate with IT staff regarding job scheduling and production status. Responsibilities Operates computer equipment for scheduled, special, and test programs Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and EOY operation schedules and reports, analyzing projects to determine best schedule for production Receives and transmits data among third parties and monitors production processing Monitors printing systems so that the files are ready to be printed Works with external hardware and software vendors to schedule maintenance, software/hardware updates or changes Records and logs all production job errors, warning and operations problems Communicates with appropriate Information Technology staffing concerning job scheduling, production status, and equipment/program malfunctions Maintain Operational and Computer Room documentation for internal and external audit requirements Perform other duties as directed Skills Associate degree or specialized training in computer operations or related field Intermediate knowledge of working with Windows OS Servers Working knowledge of batch systems, including monitoring and relaying critical incidents to the appropriate parties Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong analytical skills and critical thinking skills Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team structure Self-motivated and willing to learn Benefits Company-paid retirement plan Matching 401(k) plan Employee Impact Bonus Medical, Dental and Prescription Drug Insurance.
