POSITION: Computer Forensics Analyst DEPARTMENT: National Capacity Building LOCATION: U.S. preferred, but will consider Worldwide REPORTS TO: Vice President of National Capacity Building SUPERVISION EXERCISED: n/a FLSA: Exempt; Salaried • *Contract position, but will consider Full-time GENERAL DESCRIPTION: ICMEC seeks an experienced professional with broad expertise in the acquisition, retrieval, management, analysis, and presentation of digital evidence collected from computer systems and electronic devices. ICMEC is looking for a Computer Forensics Analyst who is dedicated to the technical and procedural aspects of forensic practice and who approaches their work with the meticulousness needed to ensure the quality and integrity of evidence. Our ideal candidate also has the ability to explain the forensic process to others who may or may not have a technical background in forensic investigation and, most importantly, works well as part of multidisciplinary teams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop/apply standards and guides of good practices for national and/or international partners, related to the field of computer forensics. • Skillfully use hardware and/or software specific to the field of computer forensics. • Know how to determine the suitability of different options for forensic tools and technologies available in the market for adoption in specific, unusual cases. • Design and/or develop specific hardware and/or software for forensic analysis that may be necessary for a specific case or type of analysis. • Develop forensic tools. • Collaborate in the preparation of activity reports, research reports, and follow-up meetings with partners. • Conduct training internationally for law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges on: • Data breaches and security investigations • Data recovery and examination from computers and electronic storage devices • Dismantling and rebuilding damaged systems to recover lost data • Identifying additional systems compromised by cyberattacks and gathering evidence for legal cases • Identifying and collecting digital evidence according to the technical and legal requirements that condition forensic practices • Acquiring and analyzing digital evidence of computer systems and digital devices in operation, turned off and networked • Preserving the integrity of digital evidence and maintaining the chain of custody • Preparing technical or expert reports related to the study and analysis of digital evidence obtained according to forensic methods • Defending in public the technical or expert reports prepared • Establishing and implementing the technical, legal, and quality requirements that a forensic computer (or ICT) laboratory must meet EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Professional degree in Systems Engineering, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or similar areas (required) • Master's degree in Cybersecurity (preferred) • Computer Forensics certifications (considered) • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in digital forensics KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: • Expertise in Forensic Analysis on Windows, Linux, IOS, and Android systems and devices • Required Knowledge: • Use of forensic software • Understanding of the basis of computer and technology laws • Familiarity with malware analysis • Management of internal and external audits • English required • Spanish desired • Multiple languages a plus TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: International travel required. HOURS and SCHEDULE: Generally, Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm (minimum 37.5 hours within five (5) days per week); unless otherwise required or approved by management to also include evenings and weekends as needed. Depending on location, candidates may be required to travel to the office periodically. Remote work is a possibility.
