Job Summary We're seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Urgent Care team in Sturgis, SD. As a Medical Assistant, you'll play a vital role in delivering direct and indirect patient care in our ambulatory clinic setting. You'll work closely with our healthcare team to ensure seamless patient experiences, performing assigned tasks in accordance with our policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Patient Care : Prepare examination and treatment areas per clinic standards, complete patient rooming procedures, and accurately administer and document unit dose medications/immunizations. Clinical Support : Perform EKG's and laboratory testing per CLIA license, ensure accurate documentation in patient records, and function as a provider scribe following successful training. Administrative Tasks : Complete assigned clerical activities, maintain supplies, and assist with scheduling follow-up care/appointments as directed. Patient Education : Distribute pre-printed/pre-approved patient education materials and direct patient questions to providers or RNs. Team Collaboration : Work collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care and maintain a culture of teamwork and professionalism. Essential Qualifications To excel in this role, you'll need: Education : High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies; Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training program. Certification : Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by one of the listed certifying bodies; Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 days of hire. Skills and Competencies : Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks. Preferred Qualifications Experience : 1+ years of Clinical Experience; 1+ years of Healthcare Experience. Physical Requirements : Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force constantly, and/or up to 50 pounds frequently, and/or up to 100 pounds occasionally, with possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
