Key Responsibilities Foster positive relationships between caregivers and individuals served, promoting a culture of trust, respect, and empathy. Ensure customer safety and maintain a safe environment, adhering to our high standards of care and support. Remind and assist clients with self-administration of medications (with proper training), and provide support with daily living tasks. Encourage self-help activities, promoting independence and confidence in our clients. Document services provided, maintaining accurate records and reports. Perform home management functions, such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning, to create a comfortable and welcoming living environment. Plan meals, shop for groceries, prepare and serve food/meals, and clean up, promoting healthy eating habits and mealtime routines. Accompany clients to scheduled appointments and transport them to community activities, providing support and companionship. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing needs. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications At least 18 years of age Valid driver's license and current auto insurance Clean, reliable vehicle Clear criminal history record Social Security Card or Birth Certificate Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds Open and flexible availability, including willingness to work varied shifts and schedules Preferred Qualifications At least 2 years of professional caregiving or similar experience Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to caregiving Skills and Competencies To succeed as an Entry Level Caregiver with BIOS Corporation, you'll need to possess a range of essential skills and competencies, including: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families, and colleagues. Compassion, empathy, and patience, with a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing needs. Basic knowledge of caregiving principles and practices, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills. Ability to maintain accurate records and reports, with attention to detail and organizational skills.
