COMMUNICATIONS OPERATIONS MANAGER

Compensation Range: $40 - 50 per hour
We are looking for a seasoned Internal Communications Expert with a mastery of Slack to drive the execution and refinement of our Strategic Events communication workflows. In this contract position, you will focus on high-level content delivery, channel management, and operational scaling to ensure our internal messaging remains clear, impactful, and efficient.
As an individual contributor, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust frameworks, modernize existing processes, and champion innovative ways to distribute and analyze internal information.
Responsibilities:
Communications Systems & Workflows
• Develop and manage scalable operational models using Slack, Google Workspace, and ecosystem tools.
• Refine channel strategies and usage protocols to reduce "noise" and enhance the overall employee experience.
• Architect and oversee foundational assets, including editorial calendars, project trackers, intake systems, and standardized templates.
• Streamline team handoffs by defining clear accountability, production schedules, and execution benchmarks.
AI-Enabled Tooling & Automation
• Research and prototype AI-driven and agent-led workflows within our enterprise-approved tech stack.
• Integrate automation into core communication cycles to boost speed, accuracy, and output quality.
• Help define a practical roadmap for the future of our communications tech stack.
• Convert complex operational requirements into functional, automated solutions.
Content Strategy & Copywriting
• Author and polish internal content for Slack, email, leadership briefings, and specific program updates.
• Utilize sharp editorial skills to produce messaging that is engaging, concise, and consistent with our brand voice.
• Evaluate and select the best formats for distribution, experimenting with video, media, and Slack integrations.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure all content aligns with high-level business objectives.
Analytics & Performance Reporting
• Organize disparate data sources into structured systems for reliable performance tracking.
• Manage reporting dashboards focused on audience reach, engagement levels, and process efficiency.
• Interpret data trends to provide actionable recommendations for strategy optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Guide the positioning of editorial content to help teams meet specific goals while staying aligned with the broader corporate narrative.
• Navigate a matrixed organizational structure to ensure all initiatives are executed on time and in sync with partner departments.
Qualifications:
• 5-7+ years of professional experience in internal communications, marketing operations, or communications ops.
• Expert-level Slack proficiency is mandatory, specifically regarding content publishing, channel management, workflow builder, and app integrations.
• Experience in a B2B and/or tech company.
