Commercial Litigation Attorney (REMOTE - Ft. Lauderdale)
Boutique Commercial Litigation & Insurance Defense law firm based is seeking a FL-licensed litigation attorney to join its Fort Lauderdale office....remotely! 100% REMOTE position but would "prefer" candidates who live in either Palm Beach, Broward or Miami-Dade County. Will consider strong candidates who live anywhere in FL. Our practice includes business and shareholder disputes, breach of contract, trademark and franchise law, copyright matters, commercial real estate litigation, legal malpractice, labor and employment, products liability, class actions, and other complex commercial litigation matters. We also defend high-value injury cases, however, our clients are all sophisticated businesses with high self-insured retention policies - we do NOT represent insurance carriers. These clients all carry large GL policies that cover premises liability, products liability, construction defect, negligent maintenance, and other GL claims. As such, we expect you will handle BOTH Commercial Litigation and some Injury Defense matters on behalf of our clients. The attorney in this role will review and analyze new matters, draft pleadings and motions, handle written discovery, prepare for and take depositions (including expert depositions), argue motions, attend court hearings and mediations, and assist with trial preparation and trials. Ideal candidates would have 5-15 years of Commercial Litigation and Insurance Defense Litigation experience in Florida. Will consider 3rd and 4th year candidates as well. We are not a "template" firm so we care about strong legal research and writing. If legal writing is not one of your strengths, you should not apply to this position. Writing samples will be required to make an offer! Base Salary: $125,000 to $175,000; however, our bonuses are very generous and can pay "up to" $25k per year for above and beyond billing + excellent performance. Billing/Bonus: The position requires 2,000 billable hours per year, with bonuses paid for hours billed above that minimum threshold.
