Requirements
As a Full-Stack Engineer at Commence, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of our applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that are scalable, secure, and efficient. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on complex technical challenges; the harder the problem, the more energized you become.Develop, and maintain scalable web applications using modern technologies including .NET, React, Bootstrap, Python, PHP (Laravel), and C#.Build and integrate RESTful APIs to enable seamless interaction between frontend and backend systems.Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical specificationsDesign, configure, and deploy serverless applications and cloud-based solutions using AWS servicesWork with mission-critical applications at scale, ensuring high availability and performanceProvide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineersContribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical strategyProcess and optimize applications working with large data setsOptimize application performance for maximum speed and scalabilityEnsure the security and compliance of applications, particularly regarding data handling and storageContinuously improve and maintain existing systems by identifying areas of enhancementCreate reusable components and frameworks to drive consistency and efficiency.Apply secure coding practices in compliance with HIPAA, NIST, and other relevant healthcare standards.Optimize application performance to ensure high speed, responsiveness, and scalability.Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to uphold high-quality engineering standards.Enhance and maintain existing systems by identifying and addressing areas for improvement.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Stay current with industry trends and best practices in full-stack development.Qualifications5+ years of experience in full-stack developmentExceptional problem-solving abilitiesādemonstrated track record of tackling complex technical challenges with enthusiasm and creativityExperience with multiple programming languages and frameworks, particularly React and Node.js.Hands-on experience deploying and managing serverless applications in AWSExperience configuring and deploying various AWS services such as: Amplify, EC2, S3, Lambda, SNS, RDS, and othersExperience building and maintaining mission-critical applications at scaleExperience working with large data sets and optimizing for performanceSoftware application development skills, including web services, web-based deployment, and database integrationBest practices with code development including unit testing and improving through static code analysis and security findingsExperience with CI/CD pipelinesExperience with database technologies (relational and/or NoSQL)Experience with version control systems (Git-based)Strong attention to detail and commitment to code qualityAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamExcellent communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with document management systemsExperience with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technologiesExperience in healthcare technology or regulated industriesAWS CertificationsFamiliarity with other cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud)AI/ML skills *Commence' headquarters are in Virginia Beach, VA, however we are open to remote candidates in the following states: AZ, AR, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, MI, MS, MO, MT, NC, NE, NV, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, DC, WI, and WV*Work Environment/Physical DemandsThe work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
