Role Overview: As a College Counselor, you will provide expert guidance to students, helping them navigate the college admissions process. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping students' college applications, identifying their strengths, and preparing them to stand out in a competitive admissions environment. Your work will vary depending on the needs of each student, ranging from candidacy development to application submission support. What You’ll Do: • College Candidacy Preparation: Help students assess their current profiles and identify areas for growth, providing strategic advice on extracurriculars, coursework, and passion projects that align with their interests and goals. • College Applications Guidance: Assist students in crafting compelling personal statements, supplemental essays, and applications that effectively communicate their unique narratives and strengths. • Holistic Student Development: Ensure students are well-rounded candidates by advising them on leadership opportunities, internships, and community involvement. • One-on-One Counseling: Provide individualized counseling tailored to each student’s aspirations, including personalized timelines, application strategies, and school selection advice. • Collaborative Support: Work with parents and other counselors to keep everyone aligned with the student’s progress, offering regular updates and insights.
