Job Summary As a Collections Representative , your primary function will be to contact payers regarding outstanding accounts receivables, handle unresolved inquiries/issues, and adhere to the collections process and organization policies on collection practices. You will be a key member of our team, working closely with our Health Finance and Operations colleagues to drive business results and improve health outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Analyze daily denial management correspondence to resolve issues and identify root causes. Review and resolve accounts assigned via work lists daily as directed by supervisor. Communicate effectively in written and oral form with internal and external customers. Multitask and function in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and problem-solving as needed. Research and report root causes to Supervisor and identify payer performance trends at the payer level. Navigate payer portals and identify bad debt write-offs and adjustments. Adhere to regulatory/payer guidelines and policies and procedures. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent experience. Must be 18 years of age OR older. 6+ months of medical OR pharmacy billing OR collection experience. Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and navigation, mouse, and keyboarding skills. Knowledge of explanation of benefits (EOB), CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCPS coding, and benefits verification and prior authorization. Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:30 am - 6:00 pm CST from Monday - Friday. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ year of experience in a related environment (i.e., office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools. Experience with PBM in billing / collections. Experience in Microsoft Excel (create and edit spreadsheets) and Microsoft Word (creating, editing, saving, formatting). Home Infusion Experience. Ability to prioritize, plan, and handle multiple tasks/demands simultaneously. Critical thinking skills. Ability to verbally articulate and communicate with manager, team members, and customers. Telecommuting Requirements As a remote worker, you will be required to: Keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable). Establish a dedicated work area that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy. Live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
