Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (AWS) Jr. Level
About the position
Cogent People Inc. is seeking a motivated Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (AWS) Jr. Level to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting a large scale program for the federal government, ensuring high availability and performance. This role includes infrastructure provisioning and monitoring, enforcement of security best practices, systems administration, and DevSecOps.
Responsibilities
⢠Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure
⢠Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
⢠Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based systems
⢠Implement and maintain monitoring solutions for cloud resources
⢠Perform system administration tasks and optimize performance
⢠Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines
⢠Ensure security best practices are followed in cloud environments
⢠Participate in on-call rotations for incident response
Requirements
⢠Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in:
⢠AWS (VPC, S3, EC2, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation)
⢠IaC tools (Terraform)
⢠Linux ā system administration, shell scripting, performance tuning
⢠Monitoring: CloudWatch, New Relic, Splunk
⢠Networking fundamentals: VPNs, DNS, load balancing, firewalls
⢠CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions
⢠Scripting: bash, Python
⢠Git
⢠Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
⢠Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail, multi-tasking ability, and effective time management.
⢠Candidates must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years and be authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD).
