Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (AWS) Jr. Level
About the position
Cogent People Inc. is seeking a motivated Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (AWS) Jr. Level to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting a large scale program for the federal government, ensuring high availability and performance. This role includes infrastructure provisioning and monitoring, enforcement of security best practices, systems administration, and DevSecOps.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure
ā¢ Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
ā¢ Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based systems
ā¢ Implement and maintain monitoring solutions for cloud resources
ā¢ Perform system administration tasks and optimize performance
ā¢ Collaborate with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines
ā¢ Ensure security best practices are followed in cloud environments
ā¢ Participate in on-call rotations for incident response
Requirements
ā¢ Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in:
ā¢ AWS (VPC, S3, EC2, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation)
ā¢ IaC tools (Terraform)
ā¢ Linux ā system administration, shell scripting, performance tuning
ā¢ Monitoring: CloudWatch, New Relic, Splunk
ā¢ Networking fundamentals: VPNs, DNS, load balancing, firewalls
ā¢ CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions
ā¢ Scripting: bash, Python
ā¢ Git
ā¢ Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
ā¢ Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail, multi-tasking ability, and effective time management.
ā¢ Candidates must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years and be authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD).
