Cloud Engineer – Linux Administrator
Location: Remote
Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer – Linux Administrator to support a federal client in designing, maintaining, and optimizing secure cloud infrastructure within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.
In this role, you will help build and sustain resilient cloud-native architectures that support mission-critical federal systems. You will collaborate with engineering teams to automate infrastructure, ensure system security and performance, and support scalable cloud solutions in a secure government environment.
Responsibilities
As a Cloud Engineer – Linux Administrator, you will:
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments
• Administer and maintain Linux systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
• Develop and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Implement configuration management and automation using Ansible
• Collaborate with development teams to deploy and support cloud-native applications
• Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and cloud cost optimization efforts
• Assist with automation pipelines and DevOps processes supporting cloud deployments
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and operational standards
Schedule & Shift Details
• Full-time (40 hours/week)
• Remote support for federal program operations
Required Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Minimum of 3–5 years experience with Linux system administration and cloud infrastructure
• T3/T5 equivalent eligibility
Demonstrated Experience With
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Database
• Linux and Red Hat OS administration
• Terraform and Cloudbees Jenkins
• Ansible automation and configuration management
• Cloud-native architectures and DevOps automation tools
Certifications
• Current CompTIA Security+ certification required
• One or more DoD 8570 baseline certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CCNA, CAP, CASP+ CE, CND, CSSLP, CySA+, GSLC, or SSCP)
