Cloud Engineer - AWS/OCI (Remote)

Our Client, a global leader in delivering diverse Technologies is seeking a Cloud Engineer to lead and execute the end-to-end migration of applications, data, and infrastructure from AWS to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Key Responsibilities:

- Assess current AWS architecture and design a target-state OCI architecture aligned with performance, security, and compliance requirements
- Migrate compute, storage, networking, and database workloads, including refactoring where necessary
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or OCI Resource Manager
- Ensure data integrity, system availability, and disaster recovery throughout the migration process
- Collaborate with application teams to support testing, validation, and cutover activities
- Apply security best practices, including IAM, network segmentation, encryption, and logging
- Monitor system performance and optimize post-migration workloads in OCI
- Document architecture, migration steps, and operational procedures for long-term state use
- Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to Montana state IT staff

Preferred Qualifications:

- OCI certification (Associate or Professional)
- Experience working with state or local government systems
- Knowledge of regulatory, legal, or records-based systems
- Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments
- Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., CJIS, NIST, FedRAMP concepts)

Required Skills

Required Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or Cloud Infrastructure Specialist
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM etc.)
- Demonstrated experience migrating workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, security architecture, and identity management
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform strongly preferred)
- Familiarity with database migration strategies and tools
- Experience supporting mission-critical or public sector systems
- Strong documentation and communication skills
