Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching multiple laboratory sections per year in Chemistry, participating in curriculum development, and mentoring undergraduate students. You will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate laboratory teaching, impactful service to the College community, and a passion for promoting student success. Key Responsibilities:
Teach multiple laboratory sections per year in Chemistry, in accordance with course descriptions, learning outcomes, and institutional policies
Participate in curriculum development, review, and selection of instructional materials
Mentor undergraduate students, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their academic goals
Evaluate and assess student learning, providing constructive feedback and support
Collaborate with faculty members, lab managers, and teaching assistants to ensure efficient lab operations and maintenance
Participate in departmental, school, and college committees, contributing to the development of academic programs and policies
Requirements:
Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
At least one year of experience teaching laboratory courses in Chemistry or a related field
Strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate laboratory teaching and mentoring
Experience with innovative approaches to promoting student success, such as project-based learning and inclusive pedagogical practices
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
What We Offer:
Competitive salary range: $52,000 - $55,000 per year
