Job Description:Specialized Dental Partners is seeking highly skilled Systems Engineer (Clinical & Enterprise Systems Platform Owner) to own, operate, and evolve our clinical and our imaging ecosystem. This role is responsible for end-to-end ownership of clinical systems, web-based applications, and supporting Microsoft platforms as standardized, secure, and scalable service products. The Systems Engineer ensures that mission-critical clinical applications remain reliable, secure, and well-integrated with identity, infrastructure, and endpoint platforms. This is a hands-on engineering role with clear product accountability, not just a ticket-focused position. This position is primarily remote with travel required as needed. Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities: Clinical Systems Platform Shared OwnershipOwn clinical systems as service products, including EMR/PMS and Imaging (2D & 3D)Partner with clinical stakeholders to ensure systems meet operational and care-delivery needsOversee configuration, upgrades, integrations, and vendor coordinationEstablish success metrics for clinical systems (availability, performance, usability, data integrity)Serve as the single point of accountability for clinical system outcomes and customer experiencesWeb Application & SaaS Management:Own web-based applications and SaaS platforms used across clinical and administrative workflowsManage access control, role design, and SSO integrationsCoordinate vendor support, escalations, and roadmap discussionsEnsure consistent onboarding, offboarding, and permission modelsMicrosoft Systems Integration:Provide advanced support and integration across Microsoft platforms (M365, Entra ID, Windows)Align clinical and web systems with identity, access, and device management standardsSupport Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and related services as they intersect with clinical workflowsPartner with Microsoft Administrators on tenant-wide standards and automationAutomation, Standardization, and Documentation:Treat automation as a first-class platform featureBuild scripts and workflows for provisioning, access management, and reportingReduce system variance through standards and documented configurationsOwn systems documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks Security, Compliance, and Reliability:Ensure clinical and web systems meet security and compliance expectations (HIPAA-aligned)Support audits, access reviews, and incident investigationsEmbed security principles into system configuration and vendor integrationsParticipate in incident response for clinical-impacting outages

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:6+ years experience in a technology role3+ years of systems engineering experience in healthcare environments2+ years of experience working directly with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Practice Management Software (PMS) systems (example: Dentrix, Endovision, The Dental Office (TDO), McKesson, Cerner)3+ years in communication-centric business role2+ years focused on automation creation Preferred Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldStrong direct ownership and responsibility for client experienceIntune, Defender, and integrationsAPI integrations and SSO (SAML/OIDC)Vendor-hosted SaaS application managementDocumentation, standard setting, and lifecycle ownershipProven ability to communicate technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholdersSystem buildout experience in new developments around clinical enterpriseWeb application control, management, and vendor coordinationExperience with web application control, management, and vendor coordination Specialized Dental Partners, its affiliates, related companies and independently owned supported clinical practices are proud to be Equal Opportunity Employers. The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $125,000 per year.
