Clinical Director/Therapist- Outpatient Mental Health

Position Overview: Embodied Wellness, PLLC is seeking a full-time Clinical Director. The Clinical Director is responsible for the management and development of clinical and administrative staff of Embodied Wellness. The Clinical Director must think globally and make decisions independently that promote growth for Embodied Wellness.

The Clinical Director will work approximately 40 hours per week, and must maintain a minimum clinical caseload of 20 clients per week. The role is primarily conducted virtually, with a requirement to attend a minimum of one in person community vendor event per year.

Reports to: Sarah Rollins, LMSW, SEP; Owner

Clinical Duties and Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain a consistent clinical caseload of 20 clients per week, providing virtual therapy in accordance with organizational policies and professional ethical codes.
• Respond to clients, team members, and stakeholders within 24 business hours
• Communicate with a client’s broader treatment team (e.g., primary care provider, psychiatrist, school, etc.) when clinically appropriate.
• Abide by all insurance contracts expectations including, but not limited to: documentation guidelines set by insurance companies, completing documentation within 48 hours per insurance contracts, coordinating care with primary care physicians, and complying with insurance audits.
• Attend all mandatory meetings
• Attend at least one community engagement event in-person per year (if living within 1 hour of events)

Supervisory and Administrative Duties & Responsibilities:
• New Hire Onboarding: Lead, manage, and hold new therapists accountable during their first 90 days. Provide structure, mentorship, and ongoing feedback to support their clinical growth and integration into the team.
• Quality Assurance & Insurance Compliance: Conduct routine chart audits to ensure documentation, treatment plans, and progress notes meet organizational standards and insurance requirements.
• Client Retention & Engagement: Monitor client retention trends and collaborate with therapists to identify and address concerns related to client engagement, outcomes, and therapeutic fit.
• Documentation Tracking: Track outstanding clinical documentation and follow up with clinicians to support timely and accurate completion.
• Employee Transitions: Coordinate offboarding and leave procedures to ensure a smooth and ethical transition for clients and staff.
• Performance Support: Develop and implement performance improvement plans when necessary, providing guidance and support to help team members meet clinical and organizational expectations.
• Clinical Supervision: Provide biweekly individual supervision to up to three (3) Limited Licensed Master Social Workers (LLMSWs). Review and co-sign clinical notes in accordance with insurance requirements.
• Equity & Inclusion Leadership: Champion anti-racism and anti-oppression efforts within the organization. Support staff in integrating these values into their clinical and professional work.
• Cross-Functional Support: Maintain a strong understanding of the roles and responsibilities across the organization. Step in to provide support or coverage for various functions as needed.
• Other Duties: Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support organizational goals and evolving needs.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Fully licensed and in good standing to practice independently in the State of Michigan (LMSW). A copy of the license must be provided to Embodied Wellness upon hire.
• Must reside in the State of Michigan.
• Willingness to work Monday through Friday and some evening now
• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a clinical setting
• Trained and experienced in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
• Skilled in time management, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to balance administrative duties and clinical responsibilities.
• Reliable, punctual, and self-directed; capable of working independently while contributing positively to a team-based environment.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to maintain documentation that meets insurance and medical necessity standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Established CAQH profile and individual credentialing with BCBS PPO
• Familiarity with Simple Practice or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• An existing referral network or recognizable presence in the mental health community is a plus.

Work Environment:
• Fully Remote: This is a telehealth position. Clinical services, meetings, and supervision are conducted virtually.
• Community Engagement: Participation in one in-person community event per year is required (for team members living within one hour of event locations).
