Clinical Coding Auditor & Trainer (Associate & Senior Level)
This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: New York (USA)
Position Purpose: Develop and conduct training and quality auditing programs for Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) and Medical Record Audit programs.
ā¢ Location: Primarily remote with biannual travel to New York required, applicant outside of New York can also apply for this role, as long as they are open to NYC few times in year.
ā¢ Travel: Travel to New York twice a year
Key Responsibilities:
ā¢ Audit work performed by staff and present findings and recommendations for improvements to management.
ā¢ Manage auditing projects independently, requiring originality and critical thinking.
ā¢ Assist in revising policies, procedures, and work process development.
ā¢ Analyze training needs for clinical and coding staff.
ā¢ Develop or select appropriate training programs and create training aids.
ā¢ Maintain records of audit and training activities and track employee progress.
ā¢ Review patient letters for accuracy and clarity with strong English grammar skills.
ā¢ Comply with all company policies and standards.
ā¢ Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
ā¢ Inpatient coding experience.
ā¢ At least 1-year clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
ā¢ 4+ years of DRG and/or Medical Record Audit experience.
ā¢ Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent experience.
ā¢ RN, PA, MD, APRN, DO, or MBBS license required.
ā¢ Strong written communication skills.
ā¢ Training or auditing experience in healthcare or managed care.
Preferred Certifications:
ā¢ Current CPC or CIC Certification through APPC, or CCS through AHIMA.
ā¢ RHIA or RHIT credentials desirable.
