Claims Coverage Counsel - up to $220,000 + General Liability
Oliver James is working with a global insurance carrier that is looking to make additional hires in their Claims Coverage team. As their Claims Coverage Counsel, Casualty you will be responsible for providing high level coverage advice on large loss commercial general liability and other P&C claims. This will include providing coverage and litigation advice on high severity claims up to $100M in value and protecting the insurer against lawsuits. You will work closely with the business leaders to provide key legal and coverage support for the casualty claims team of 50+ staff.
Key/Skills Experience Required:
10+ years large loss, high severity commercial general liability claims experience (including premise liability, product liability, auto liability and other wide ranging bodily injury matters) - gained in insurance or legal
Experience handling other P&C claims including property, specialty and workers compensation (beneficial but not essential)
Experience providing technical and legal oversight on multi-million dollar casualty claims
Experience working as a Claims Counsel, Coverage Counsel or Claims Attorney (or comparable roles)
10+ years working in complex coverage and litigation roles within casualty claims (within insurance or legal)
JD Law and extensive legal experience. This is essential to be considered for this role.
This is an in-office role from NYC, Hartford, Chicago, Atlanta or Los Angeles, with an excellent base salary up to $220,000 (negotiable) + 25% on target bonus (up to $300,000 total compensation). The role also offers an strong route of progression into high level legal or coverage opportunities.
