The Workers' Compensation Claim Representative I plays a key role in the investigation and adjustment of assigned workers' compensation claims. This hybrid position offers the flexibility of working from home three days a week and being in the office two days a week, after an initial training period. The role operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities:
ย• Investigate and adjust workers' compensation claims in alignment with CCMSI's corporate standards.
ย• Manage a caseload with a focus on maintaining high-quality service as perceived by clients.
ย• Local travel may be required for claim reviews, conferences, trainings, or meetings.

Requirements:
ย• A minimum of 3 years of experience in adjusting workers' compensation claims is required.
ย• Experience with hospital, restaurant, commercial trucking, municipality, or PEO claims is a plus.
ย• An active LA adjuster's license is required.
ย• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle a manageable caseload.

Responsibilities:
ย• Investigate and adjust workers compensation claims in accordance with established claims handling procedures using CCMSI guidelines and direct supervision.
ย• Review medical, legal and miscellaneous invoices to determine if reasonable and related to the ongoing workers compensation claims. Negotiate any disputed bills for resolution.
ย• Authorize and make payment of workers compensation claims utilizing a claim payment program in accordance with industry standards and within settlement authority.
ย• Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys in accordance with client's authorization.
ย• Assist in selection and supervision of defense attorneys.
ย• Assess and monitor subrogation claims for resolution.
ย• Prepare reports detailing claims, payments and reserves.
ย• Provide reports and monitor files, as required by excess insurers.
ย• Compliance with Service Commitments as established by team.
ย• Delivery of quality claim service to clients.
ย• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

3 or more years of workers compensation claim experience or other related industry experience is required.

Computer Skills

Proficient using Microsoft Office programs such as:
Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

LA adjuster's license is required.
