Role: Senior Systems Programmer(CICS with z/OS)
Part Time: 20 25 hours a week
These 20-25 hours can be any time, client prefers 2nd half EST.

Summary: Client is looking for CICS programmer with z/OS experience and must have z/OS upgrade experience.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Senior systems programming positions are responsible for the infrastructure software and systems of our mainframe and mid-range computing platforms. This is a senior technical position is responsible for assisting in the oversight of organizing, planning, configuration, and installation of all computing infrastructure components. In addition, this position is responsible for technical coordination and oversight of implementing controls to ensure that the performance, reliability, and availability of the computing infrastructure meets or exceeds established corporate service commitments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the administration of infrastructure software and hardware systems of our mainframe and mid-range computing platforms, which includes adhering to vendor and/or company published guidelines regarding upgrades, service, and security patching.
Monitoring system performance, availability, and security, making necessary changes to system parameters affecting performance, availability, and security to ensure company goals are met.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide senior technical oversight for all computing systems software configurations.
Assist in the creation of technical controls, practices, and processes to ensure that operating systems and their attendant third party software components are compatible and are at supported versions across the enterprise. This includes technical leadership and oversight for the installation of all operating system components, as well as third party infrastructure software.
Provide senior technical leadership and consulting services to ensure adequate training and support services are available for application programming and computer operations personnel.
Assists in providing senior technical consulting services to management regarding the implementation of new hardware and software technologies including documentation of upgrade plans and risks.
Ensure that adequate technical controls are in place for monitoring system performance and availability and recommend necessary changes to system parameters affecting performance and availability.
Assist in providing coordination and planning to ensure that training and mentoring for other members of the group is consistent with changing technologies and the introduction of new infrastructure software
