Project Overview: I’m seeking a talented children’s book illustrator to create 32 background illustrations for a completed storybook (ages 6–8). The main character (hero image) will be added separately, so your focus will be on designing the detailed background scenes that bring each moment to life. You’re welcome to work in your preferred medium — digital illustration, Procreate, Photoshop, or AI-assisted tools (like Adobe Firefly) — as long as the final results are high-quality, cohesive, and suitable for print and commercial use. What You’ll Deliver: 32 full-color background illustrations (no character drawing required) Consistent storybook style and color palette throughout Print-ready PNGs (20x20 cm, 300 DPI) – ready for Canva or KDP layout Whimsical, warm, and emotionally expressive settings (forests, playgrounds, cozy interiors, magical scenes) Scene descriptions and layout guidance provided for each page Ideal Illustrator: Experience illustrating children’s books or creating whimsical backgrounds Strong understanding of light, depth, and atmosphere Ability to match or complement an existing character art style Communicative, reliable, and open to creative collaboration Comfortable working with layered artwork (background + character overlay workflow) Bonus Skills (Nice to Have): Familiarity with AI-assisted illustration tools (Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, etc.) Ability to provide editable layers (PSD or Procreate files) Timeline: Estimated 4–6 weeks from commencement (flexible for the right fit).
