Conduct, summarize, and document research and analysis of child welfare and behavioral health issues at both state and national levels
Support the consulting team in developing solutions and strategies for clients
Participate in internal meetings and contribute to discussions on project development
Prepare reports and presentations under the guidance of experienced consultants
Engage in special projects as assigned, providing valuable insights and recommendations
Keep abreast of trends and federal level changes affecting child welfare and behavioral health
Ensure quality control processes and procedures are followed
Qualifications

Strong organization and time management skills with attention to detail to manage multiple projects at the same time
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to strategically and creatively process information and communicate with all levels within the organization
Ability to work within a team environment and independently manage own work
Superior problem-solving capabilities and superior learning agility
Attention to detail
Ability to apply skills learned on one project to subsequent analyses
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Required

Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Social Work, Public Policy, Public Health, Public Administration or a related field
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Public Health, Public Administration or a related field
Preferred

Background in child welfare and/or behavioral health
Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future.The TeamThe Indianapolis Health Practice provides tailored support to clients on a range of behavioral health and child welfare initiatives. We assist states with behavioral health policy, programming, rate setting and finance needs, customizing our solutions to each client's unique context. Recognizing the interplay between multiple funding sources and authorities, we use a holistic and multifaceted approach to addressing the unique needs of diverse stakeholders. As behavioral health becomes increasingly critical, Milliman is committed to helping communities and states navigate their pressing behavioral health challenges across the continuum of care.LocationThis role is based out of the Milliman office in Indianapolis, IN but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US.The expected application deadline for this job is October 13, 2025.CompensationThe overall hourly range for this role is $19 - $40 per hour.For candidates residing in:

Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $21 - $36 per hour.
New York City, Newark, San Jose, or San Francisco the salary range is $23 - $40 per hour.
All other locations the salary range is $19 - $33 per hour.
