A high-growth, US-based e-commerce company specialising in premium wellness, spa, and massage equipment is looking for an experienced and strategic Chartered Accountant (CA) to take full ownership of their financial operations. This fully remote role is suited to a proactive, hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced digital retail environment. The position is focused on full-function accounting, financial planning, and operational improvement, requiring a strong analytical mindset, deep systems knowledge, and a solid grasp of global e-commerce platforms. The ideal candidate is not only an expert in numbers but also a strategic thinker who can drive improvements and efficiencies across financial processes
Minimum Requirements:
Registered CA(SA) with 5-8 years of post-qualification experience
3 years as the primary accountant in a business
Experienced in QuickBooks Online (with inventory experience)
Familiarity with USA financial regulations and TAX requirements (e.g. IRS, 1099s, FATCA)
Experience in e-commerce environments (preferred)
Demonstrated experience in full-function accounting, financial planning, and strategy
Experience working with US-based companies
Understanding of merchant platforms such as Amazon, PayPal, Walmart, BigCommerce
Ability to work independently and manage the finance function end-to-end
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Must be able to work full-time South African hours: 15:30pm - 00:30am
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives
Deliver financial modelling and forecasting insights for leadership decisions
Evaluate company performance and recommend financial and operational improvements
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Consolidate and analyse financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually
Prepare executive-level reports and dashboards
Perform variance analysis and identify key performance drivers
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead and coordinate company-wide annual budgeting
Monitor budget adherence and maintain financial discipline
Update forecasts to align with changing business or market conditions
Risk Management and Compliance:
Ensure adherence to US financial regulations and tax laws
Manage internal audits and maintain effective internal controls
Identify and mitigate financial risks proactively
Cash Flow and Working Capital Management:
Monitor cash flow daily, weekly, and monthly
Optimise working capital to maintain business liquidity
Create short- and long-term cash flow forecasts
Systems, Controls & Automation:
Lead implementation and optimisation of financial systems
Enforce robust internal control frameworks
Drive automation and continuous improvement in accounting operations
