Character Illustrator + After Effects Rigging
We’re looking for a skilled illustrator + motion designer to take an existing AI generated character mockup and turn it into a fully custom, original character, staying very close to the original look and style but not AI.
Once illustrated, you’ll build a clean, well organized After Effects rig so we can easily create different versions of the character without re-animating from scratch.
What you’ll be doing
Re-drawing an AI character mockup into a custom, original illustration
Keeping the design very close to the reference (style, proportions, vibe)
Preparing the artwork properly for animation (layered, clean, organized)
Creating an After Effects character rig that allows us to:
Control facial expressions
Adjust eyes / blinks / eye direction
Swap or animate mouth shapes
Change hand positions / arm poses
Create different character poses and variations quickly
What we’re looking for
Strong illustration skills (cartoon / character-based styles)
Solid After Effects experience
Experience with character rigging (Duik, RubberHose, Joysticks n Sliders, or similar)
Clean project organization (this matters a lot)
Ability to match an existing style very closely
Comfortable collaborating and iterating
