Summary
Azra Games is looking for a Character Artist to collaborate with art and design teams, create high-quality character models and textures, and provide feedback to external artists. Responsibilities include sculpting/modeling, UV mapping, texturing, and integrating high and low polygon meshes. Experience with generative AI is a plus. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of game development experience, strong skills in Maya, Zbrush, Substance Designer/Painter, Marvelous Designer, and Photoshop, and excellent communication and teamwork skills. We are seeking a Character Artist who can effectively collaborate with the art and design teams, create high-quality artistic content for the project within technical constraints, and provide clear feedback to external artists. Generative AI will be part of our pipelines, so AI experience and an openness to advancing our pipeline through AI are pluses.
What you will be doing:
Create top-quality character-related models and textures that align with our stylistic approach
Work closely with others along the character art pipeline, providing high quality work
Provide feedback to others within the discipline through critiques, feedback, and mentoring
Sculpt/model, UV, texture, and integrate both high & low polygon meshes

The skills you need:
3 + years of experience in game development focused on characters and creatures
Display excellent use of core skills, including core knowledge of anatomy with a keen eye toward form, shape, structure, functionality, and silhouette
Advanced use of art packages; Maya, Zbrush, Substance Designer/Painter, Marvelous Designer, and Photoshop
Ability to model both organic and hard surfaces at high poly
Self-motivated, good communicator, and a great team-player attitude
Able to effectively collaborate with game designers and programmers
Comfortable working within an environment in which the goals evolve rapidly and technical and design hurdles need to be solved on the fly
